Mitch Joel Biography:
When Google wanted to explain digital marketing to the top brands in the world, they brought Mitch Joel to the Googleplex in Mountain View, California. Marketing Magazine dubbed him the “Rock Star of Digital Marketing” and called him, “one of North America’s leading digital visionaries.” Back in 2006 he was named one of the most influential authorities on Blog Marketing in the world. He has been called a marketing and communications visionary, interactive expert and community leader. He is also a Blogger, Podcaster, passionate entrepreneur and speaker who connects with people worldwide by sharing his marketing insights on the state of business.
Joel speaks frequently to diverse groups like Wal-Mart, Starbucks, Nestle, Procter and Gamble, Unilever and has shared the stage with former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, Sir Richard Branson, Malcolm Gladwell, Jack Welch, Anthony Robbins, Tom Peters and Dr. Phil. As a professional speaker, Joel has delighted audiences all over the world by delivering real content in an entertaining and customized way. Drawing from over 10,000 slides that are constantly being updated, Joel creates one-of-a-kind audience experiences that unravel the fascinating power of business in our digitally connected world.
Joel’s most recent book, CTRL ALT Delete – Reboot Your Business. Reboot Your Life Your Future Depends On It, was released in Spring 2013. This is a time of great upheaval in business. The challenge is that most businesses don’t know how to adapt and most of the people who are working for these companies don’t know how to change. Technology hasn’t just transformed how we buy or how we sell our wares to consumers or how we connect socially. Technology has sent business through a rapid state of genetic mutation. This moment in time, Joel defines as: purgatory. We’re not in hell… but this certainly isn’t heaven either. Both the book and Joel’s latest presentation for CTRL ALT Delete clear the brush and act as a roadmap through this purgatory. In this new presentation, Joel defines five key movements that have changed business forever (that few companies are paying attention to). With a focus on business and leadership, Joel is able to provide audiences with the knowledge necessary to take advantage of these game-changing realities.
Mitch Joel is President of Twist Image – an award-winning Digital Marketing and Communications agency (although he prefers the title, Media Hacker). He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Marketing Association and a former Board Member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada. He has been involved with the content committee for both Shop.org and the Web Analytics Association, and is on the advisory council for many businesses and charitable organizations.
In 2008, Mitch was named Canada’s Most Influential Male in Social Media, one of the top 100 online marketers in the world, and was awarded the highly prestigious Canada’s Top 40 Under 40. Most recently, Mitch was named one of iMedia’s 25 Internet Marketing Leaders and Innovators in the world. Marketing Magazine has named Twist Image one of the Top 10 agencies in Canada for two years running (and the only digital marketing pure-play to make the list).
Joel is frequently called upon to be a subject matter expert for, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Fast Company, Marketing Magazine, Profit, Strategy and many other media outlets. He is a regular columnist for the Harvard Business Review and The Huffington Post. He is most comfortable on stage, helping audiences through this moment of purgatory and bringing business back on track towards The Promised Land.
